Admissions Information

Our graduate program is currently undergoing some important changes. Pending university approval, beginning the Fall 2009 semester, we will replace the current Master's Program in Historical Archaeology with an expanded Master's Program in Archaeology. The new program will include three concentrations: Historical Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology, and Bioarchaeology.

Thus, the current Master's Program in Historical Archaeology will not be accepting applicants for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Please note, however, that, if you have an Anthro Studentinterest in historical archaeology, it will be possible to concentrate on that in the new program. Our two historical archaeologists, Dr. Elizabeth Scott and Dr. Katherine Sampeck, are actively engaged in historical archaeological research, teaching, and fieldwork.

The additional faculty for the new program will include Dr. James Skibo, Dr. Maria Smith, and Dr. Fred Smith. Please go to the "Faculty" page to find out more about faculty members' research and teaching interests.

Pending approval of the new program, it will be possible to apply for admission to the Master's Program in Archaeology. The website will be updated as soon as we have approval. If you would like more information about this application process, please contact Dr. James Skibo (jmskibo@ilstu.edu).
