
James Skibo, Professor of Anthropology
Dr. James Skibo’s current research focuses on the archaeology of the Great Lakes, archaeological theory, and pottery analysis. He is the co-editor of the Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory and the book series, Foundations of Archaeology. His most recent books are People and Things: A Behavioral Approach to Material Culture (2008) and Archaeological Anthropology (2007). He is the Director of the Grand Island Archaeological Research Project, which often sponsors archaeological field schools. Money provided to participate in grant-writing workshops, collaborate with experts, serve on review panels, or meet with agency program officers.
Presenters are eligible to apply for Presentation Expense Reimbursement for research or creative projects presented at off-campus professional conferences or events. Funds are available through the Graduate School when matched by department/school funding.
Type and amount of funds will vary by year. For FY08, there are travel dollars available. In addition, for summer 08, there will be summer grants for which travel dollars may be included.
